Emerald Publishing has acquired Mental Illness journal; publishing the
latest advances in the diagnosis and treatment of mental illness, from
PAGEPress Scientific Publishing.
The new acquisition complements
Emerald’s existing portfolio of journals in Health and Social Care by expanding
our mental health coverage and diversifying our product offerings to include
psychiatry and clinical health.
Tony Roche, Publishing and Strategic
Relations Director at Emerald, said: “We are excited to bring the Mental Illness publication into
Emerald’s growing Health and Social Care programme. This journal offers an
important new bridge into clinical health practice in the field of mental health,
wellness and illness.”
The Journal, which will be open
access and published under a CC-BY model, will contribute to Emerald’s growing
list of open access options, providing authors with more choice and flexibility
to publish based on preference, funder and institutional mandates, budget, and
the need to publish open access research quickly.
Michele Moscato, CEO of PAGEPress
Publications, commented: “This is a great opportunity for the future of mental
illness. We would like to thank Dr Robert Bota, Editor in Chief, for all his
collaboration and hard work over the past few years in ensuring the journal has
become a landmark in the treatment of mental illness.
“Emerald will provide a fantastic
new home for the journal and we wish the journal every continued success in a
secure long-term future with the publisher.”
